Dear Valued Residents,

The walkway's refurbishment project, located between our Leasing Office (Building 1180) and The HOME (1100 Welch Road) identified critical safety hazards that are caused by the two prominent (2) Stone Pine trees leaning closely to the buildings, and the roots that have lifted the previous panels. The installation of an updated walkway will impact the trees between the restrictive areas, causing their roots to lift and affect the stability of the walkway. Additionally, there is no way to adequately protect the trees' root systems, causing a continued decline in their life span. This will also impact the integrity of the building structures that these trees are leaning heavily against. Given their close proximity to the buildings, the pedestrian and structural safety hazards they pose, the City of Palo Alto has granted the approval to remove these trees.

Please be informed that our tree management vendor is scheduled to remove these two trees located between these buildings. We have been in correspondence with the City of Palo Alto and our well-respected arborists to ensure that our goal with the removal project is to ensure the safety of our residents.

Monday, June 20, 2022 through Thursday, June 23, 2022, from 8:00 am - 2:30 pm

Please be aware that these areas will be closed offm and we recommend that alternate pedestrian access be used while the removal is in progress. We anticipate that this project will be completed during the scheduled period. We will keep you informed of all changes to this schedule or any additional time needed to complete the work.
